Achievements and Experience
Vedic astrology and related metaphysics
April 2022 - present
During my travel to Nepal and India, Vedic Astrology (a.k.a. Jyotish) came to my life and I am studying and training since then (with various teachers). My research combines Jyotish with the IChing, Gene Keys, and other metaphysical approaches. My vision is to support other people on their spiritual path by helping them to align more with their dharma, constructively work with their Karma, and unfold their true potential through astrology and related means. My passion is also to explore connections between this ancient wisdom and novel scientific discoveries, as well as research to the depth of the mathematical, physical, and philosophical axioms that have shaped our current view of the universe and consciousness. In my blog I am going to share some of the insights that I received.
Postdoc in computational psychedelic neuroscience
March 2020 - March 2022
I used topological machine learning and graph theory to get an insight into the topology (mathematics of shapes) of whole brain configurations (fMRI) during different styles of meditation and meditation with psilocybin. This topological analysis of the (high-dimensional space, i.e. the voxels) of brain states revealed how potential synergistic effects of psilocybin and meditation can be related to alterations of whole brain organization (in terms of global topology), how this may be related to the brain entropy theory, and how it this may be used for psychedelic therapy.
PhD Mathematics
September 2014 - September 2019
My Ph.D. thesis was in a field of pure mathematics called symplectic topology, which builds on algebraic topology, differential geometry, and functional analysis. I worked with quantum homology, a deviation of Floer homology, and lagrangian cobordisms. Identifying and categorizing lagrangian submanifolds in symplectic manifolds remains a hard and open question for many symplectic manifolds with important applications in theoretical physics, such as mirror symmetry, string theory, and Hamiltonian dynamics. My thesis further established quantum homology and its applications to advance the understanding of these questions.
Spritual practise and Boddhisatva path
2018 - present
Since 2018 I have been on the Boddhisatva path and have practiced Yoga and various meditation techniques on a regular basis. Over the years I integrated many more techniques and teachings, such as Reiki, Kundalini, QiGong, Tibetan meditation, Tantric practices, etc. Also, shamanic traditions and medicines have helped me a great deal on my path. Continuously I am seeking to deepen and expand my practice to transcend my ego, come closer to the truth, find more balance and harmony, and expand my Self.
